Harper, Mary Etta
- Funeral services will be conducted in the Memorial Chapel, Greenlawn
Mortuary Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. for Mary Etta Harper, 92, 567 Acacia Ave.,
who died April 9 in a Bakersfield hospital. The Rev. O.B. Robertson, minister
of the First Southern Baptist Church will officiate at the services and
interment will follow in the Garden of Memory section, Greenlawn Memorial
Park. Mrs. Harper, a native of Texas, had resided in Kern County 11 years.
she was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons Hiram,
Texas; John, Oklahoma; and Richard, Healdsburg; five daughters, Bessie
Smith, Bakersfield; Essie Tubb and Mary Lou Coffer, both of Riverside;
Opal Herndon, Santa Ana; and Pearl Graves, Los Angeles.

Harper, born Jan. 8, 1873 in Whitewright, TX, was the widow of Middleton
"Milt" Blackwood Harper. She was the daughter of Daniel Feagans and
Mary Ann Blanton and the granddaughter of pioneers Stephen Fletcher Blanton
and Sarah McDaniel and of Jackson Feagans and Ann Liles aka Ann Lyles.)
