ANDREW J. HARRIS
White Mound----Andrew J. Harris, 78 year old resident of White Mound, died at 7:50 this morning at his home.
Funeral services are pending the arrival of his son, Roy W. Harris, of Los Angeles. Burial will be in the White Mound cemetery under the direction of the Waldo Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Claude Johnson, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church in Sherman.
Harris was born Jan. 12, 1874 in Hood county, Tex, where the town of Lipan now stands. His father gave the land to the town of Lipan. He moved to Grayson county in 1882 where he stayed until 1902, when he moved to Oklahoma.
In 1902, Harris married Miss Mary Mildred Crabtree in Coalgate, Okla. Mrs. Harris died in 1925.
Harris returned to Grayson county in 1910, where he had resided since. He had been a member of the Baptist Church since 1909 and had been prominent in local church affairs.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Lucy Harris of White Mound: five sons, Andrew, Paul, and Fielder Harris of White Mound, and Monroe Harris of Fort Worth, and Roy W. Harris of Los Angeles; six grandchildren, one brother, and one sister.
He died on February 4, 1947.
