GAVE HIMSELF UP
James Sharp Surrendered Himself to
a Grayson County Officer.
Deputy Sheriff J. B. Melton of Grayson county came in from Sherman
last evening. An hour later James Sharpe, who shot and killed T.
I. Wood in the city of Sherman ten days ago, surrendered to Melton.
The deputy sheriff, his prisoner and Mr. Walter Sharpe departed for Sherman
on the early train this morning. The latter named gentleman said
to a News reporter: "This case is not so black against my brother
as it has been painted, and his friends are confident that he will make
a complete defense and come clear."
