Sherman Bar, died at his residence a few miles west of this
city this afternoon, and will be buried to-morrow at 11:30
o?clock in the West Side Cemetery. He was held in high
esteem by all his brethren. He made a model husband and
father and an exemplary citizen. District Court adjourned
out of respect, and at a meeting of the bar, presided over
by Capt. J. D. Woods, resolutions of respect were passed and
several complimentary speeches made.20 May 1888 Dallas Morning News, p.14 Whitewright, Tex., May 19 - Died on Thursday, Lillie, the 8-
year-old daughter of Martha and James Hartly. The child got
up in the morning as well as usual; she was taken sick at
about 9 o'clock and died at 11:55 a.m. The attending
physician pronounced the disease congestion of the brain.
She was buried Friday in the Whitewright cemetery.
