Caroline Boatman Harris Pilcher Lumbard, about 1910
mother of Louis Thomas Napoleon Pilcher
She married David Robertson Pilcher on July 26 1855 in Louisville,
Winston County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of John and Mary
Jackson Boatman. She had been married before to Jesse Harris and
had 2 daughters - Ann and Elizabeth.
Robertson Pilcher enlisted in the Confederate Army at Parker County,
Texas in March 1862, at the age of 45 years. In 1865 he was discharged
from the Army for being overage. After the War he did not return
home to his family. Caroline, thinking he had been killed in the
service, remarried. Years later, when Robertson Pilcher did return,
he found his wife married to Carlos Lumbard. Robertson left the county
to try to make a new life for himself. It is thought that he died
January 1916 and was buried at Whitesboro. (Vernon, Lucille Jackson - Pilcher
