RITES SUNDAY FOR SPENCE ROBINSON - Funeral services will be held Sunday
afternoon at the first Baptist church for Spence Robinson, 60 years old, who
passed away early Thursday morning in Dallas.
   He has been in ill health for the past 12 months suffering from the
incurable disease of leukemia.  He was confined to his home for two weeks
before being moved to the Maxfield's clinic in Dallas three weeks ago.
   Deceased was born in Whitewright, Texas, gut had made his home in this
vicinity for many years.  He has many friends in Love County and was
well-known and well-liked among traders, farmers, cattlemen, and
businessmen.  During the two weeks that he was confined to his home many of
his friends visited him and although knowing that he would live but a short
time he was very cheerful.
   Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Mae Mobley of
Kilgore, Texas; two grandchildren; two brothers, George Robinson of Vernon,
Texas; and Jim Robinson of Whitewright, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Kate
Triggs, Wichita Falls; Mrs. Ethel Brown of Thackerville; and Mrs. Ed Harvey
of Dallas; and one niece, Mrs. Ancel Smoot of Gamesville (sic - Gainesville,
   Burial will be in the Lake View cemetery with all arrangements in charge
of the Goodrich funeral home.  (researcher's note: Spencer Robinson was the
son of Major Lee Robinson and Temperance Blanton.  He was the grandson of
Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook and of Wylie Robinson.  In 1911 Spencer
Robinson married Myrtle Harvey of Grayson Co., TX.   Their only child, Edna
Mae Robinson, married Roy Merritt Mobley in Marietta, Love Co., OK in 1932.)
