WILLIAM
PINK ROLEN...BELLS, TEXAS...Funeral services for William Pink Rolen, 82,
a retired farmer who died at his home in Calamus community, were held in
his home at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 1946. Rev. E.L. Silliman, retired
Methodist Minister of Sherman, Texas conducted the services. Burial
was in the Isom Cemetery, directed by the Talley Funeral Home. Grandsons
of the deceased acted as pall bearers. Mr. Rolen was born December
27, 1863 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He came to the Bells community
when he was a youth. He later moved to the Calamus community where
he resided for the past 24 years. He was a member of the Methodist
church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary (Isom) Rolen; a son,
Floyd Rolen of Bells; five daughters,
Mrs.
B.H. Smith, Mrs. J.H. Francis of Bells, Mrs. J.E. McHone, Mrs. J. B. Baze
of Sherman and Miss Pearl Rolen at home; a son and a daughter by a former
marriage; Charley Rolen (Roland) of Ontario, Oregon and Miss Ruth Rolen
(Jimmie Hamilton of Bowie); a brother, Elmer Rolen of Sherman, 17 grandchildren,
one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. (Published
in the Sherman Democrat newspaper, Sherman, Texas.)
