R. N. (BOB) ROLEN - Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Waldo Funeral Chapel for R. N. (Bob) Rolen, 62, of 1015 E. Lamar, who suffered a fatal heart attack at 10 p.m. Tuesday in his home.  The Rev. T. L. Monroe, pastor of Belmont Baptist Chapel, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  The family will be at the Waldo Funeral Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Born in Grayson County, October 11, 1898, Mr. Rolen had been engaged in the construction business all of his life.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. (Vallie Dee Killough) Rolen.  Mr. Rolen was a member of the Baptist Church.  On December 24, 1938, he married Miss Lillie Mae McBride in Durant, Oklahoma.  He attended Sherman schools.  Survivors besides his wife, are three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Skaggs of Denison, Mrs. Cleo Gaines of Sherman and Mrs. F.T. RAY ROLEN - DENISON - Services for Ray Rolen of Denison, 75-year-old retired Grayson County employee who died Saturday in a hospital here, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. L.D. Lamb will officiate and burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.  Born in Grayson County, Mr. Rolen was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Rolen.  He was married to Mina Vincent on Aug. 20, 1920 at Dripping Springs. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Louise Fritts of Denison; sisters, Mrs. Bertha Dukes and Mrs. Zona Leverette, both of Sherman and a grandchild.  PaIIbearers are Norman Brown, George Penn, Robert Esque, Bud Forrest, Ray Duke and TomMcKee.  The family will be at the funeral home from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday. ANNA MAY ROLEN - BELLS - Services were held Saturday, February 20, 1993 at 2 p.m. in the Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel for Anna May Rolen, 96-year-old Bells homemaker.  She died Friday, February 19, 1993, at the Mullican Nursing Home.  The Rev. Houston Garner and the Rev. Jason Rolen officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Rolen was born November 26, 1896 in Van Alstyne, the daughter of William and Hattie Jay.  On December 25, 1912, she married Swafford Rolen in Grayson County.  She was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church.  Surviving are four daughters, Helen Pierce and Faye Richardson, both of Sherman, Jewel Yeary of Bells and Joyce Sinclair of Savoy; two sons, Jim Rolen and Billy Ray Rolen, both of Denison; stepbrother Ernest Jay of Dallas; 28 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.  Pallbearers were Eugene Rolen, Ronald Rolen, Charles Raymond Rolen, Ricky Pierce, Lois Earl Brown and Sonny Chelf.  The family will be at Eugene Yeary's home in Bells.  (Published in the Sherman Democrat newspaper, Sherman, Texas on February 21, 1993, page A12 and the Denison Herald newspaper, Denison, Texas on February 18(?), 1993, page 2.)


MRS. MINA ROLEN - DENISON - Services for Mrs. Mina Rolen, 82-year-old Denison homemaker who died Monday at a Denison hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bratcher Funeral Chapel.  The Rev. Dennis Hochgraber of Parkside Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.  Mrs. Rolen was born in Cooke County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vincent, and married Ray Rolen on Aug. 20, 1920 in Dripping Springs. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.  Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Maple Proffitt of Big Spring; and one grandchild. MINA ROLEN - Funeral for Mina Rolen, 82, of 300 North 8th, who died early today at a local hosptial, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Bratcher Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Dennis Hochgraber will officiate.  Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.  Mrs. Rolen was born April 3, 1904, at Cooke County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vincent.  She married Ray Rolen  August. 20, 1920, at Dripping Springs.  He died April 30, 1977.  She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.  Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Maple Proffitt, Big Springs.  The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 until 8. ROY LEE ROLEN - Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Dannel and Horton Chapel for Roy Lee Rolen, 75, retired employee of ConAgra who died Saturday in a Sherman hospital.  Rev. Val Beard of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Denison will officiate.  Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.  Born in Grayson County, he was the son of Samuel E. and Alice Kellough Rolen.  He attended Grayson County schools and was employed at ConAgra for 31 years, retiring in 1971.  He was married to Ruby Mae Springfield June 25, 1933, in Durant, Oklahoma.  Mr. Rolen is survived by his wife; sons, Don L. Rolen of Sherman and Kenneth C. Rolen of Greenville; daughter, Helen Jeffcoats of Sherman; brother, Rosco Rolen of Leonard; sister, Edna Broughton of Sherman ; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Pallbearers will be Wayne Reynolds, Jack Rolen, Homer Rolen, Rodney Orr, Todd Rolen and Eddy Rolen.  The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday.  At other times they will be at the family residence, 609 E. PEARL ROLEN - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Dannel and Horton Chapel for Miss Pearl Rolen, 65, life-long area resident who died Sunday at her residence, 117 E. Cherry.  Rev. Sam Allenbaugh of the Ambrose Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Isom Cemetery.  Born in Sherman, she was the daughter of William Pink and Mary Isom Rolen. She was a Baptist.  She is survived by sisters, Mrs. Willie McHone and Mrs. Maudie Thompson, both of Sherman, and Mrs. Ola Francis of Bells.  Nephews, Jim Francis, Loyd Rolen, Roy Duke, Roger Rolen and Don Rolen, will be pallbearers. FLOYD ROLEN - DENISON - Services for Floyd M. Rolen, 59, retired construction worker, who died Saturday at a Denison hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church at Colbert, Oklahoma, conducted by Rev. Dempsey Cosper, pastor.  Burial will be at Isom Cemetery near Bells with arrangements by Mullcan-Little Funeral Home.  Mr. Rolen was born in Grayson County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Mary Isom) P. Rolen and was married to Mrs. Judy Syler in 1973.  He was a member of Local Union No. 558, a veteran of World War II and had lived in Grayson County his entire life.  Surviving are his wife; sons, Roger Rolen and Floyd Rolen of Denison, Lloyd Rolen of Savoy, Donald Ray Rolen of Mesquite; daughter, Mrs. Sally Ashley of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters, Mrs. J. E. McHone, Mrs. George Thompson and Miss Pearl Rolen, all of Sherman, Mrs. J. H. Francis of Bells; eight grandchildren.  Pallbearers are Verna West, Wayne Sharp, Gary Whitlock, John Rice, Jim Francis and Jimmy Jack.  The family will be at the family residence on East Main Street Road.


Ruby Mae Rolen - Sherman - Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Bethany Cemetery, Sherman, Texas for Ruby Mae Rolen who passed away Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Hilltop Haven in Gunter, Texas at the age of 90 years. Stuart Rising of the Worldwide Church of God officiating. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Rolen was born August 17, 1914 in Lamasco, Texas to Isom Beasley Springfield and Alice Iota Moody Springfield. She married Roy Lee Rolen on June 25, 1933 in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1980. Mrs. Rolen was owner/operator of a children's daycare out of her home where she kept eighteen children at one time. Mrs. Rolen touched each of the lives of "her kids" leaving a lasting impression of love and life with each of them. She retired in 1979 due to the declining health of her husband and her mother. Mrs. Rolen is survived by two sons, Donald Lee Rolen and wife, Wanda of Sherman, Texas and Kenneth Charles Rolen and wife, Mickle of Greenville, Texas; one daughter, Helen Rose Jeffcoats and husband, Kenneth of Sherman, Texas; five grandchildren, Donneita Orr and husband, Rodney of Greenfield, Indiana; Eddie Rolen of Sherman, Texas; Todd Rolen and wife, Tasha of Rockwall, Texas; Amy Smith of Greenville, Texas; Jennifer Tomlinson and husband, Sammy of Hendrix, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany Orr Skaggs and husband, Charlie of Southmayd, Texas; Brian Orr of Denton, Texas; Brent Orr of Greenfield, Indiana, Tyler Rolen of Arkansas, Alxa Rolen and Sydnee Rolen of Sherman, Texas and Dean Smith and Brooke Hancock of Greenville, Texas; two brothers, Joe Springfield of Boswell, Oklahoma and Thurman Springfield of Gainesville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rolen was preceded in death by one son, Teddy Gene Rolen, her husband, her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
