first school was called "Post Oak" and was located one mile south of
Liberty Cemetery. The structure was a one-room building, made of
logs hauled from the Red River bottom by oxen. This building was
on Bug Bond and Williams land. The main source of learning was
from the Blue Back Speller, dated early 1880s.
first log school building was torn down nad some of the logs were used
to build a barn on the Massenburg place. The second school
building was built in 1900 on land joining the Liberty Cemetery, to the
west. The land was donated by Jasper Barnes. This building
consisted of one room and a one-teacher school.
1922 the third school building was built, which was a two-room school.
The school consolidated with Gordonville School in April 1930.
Some of the teachers were Thomas Deckerson, Alice Sphered and Mr. Huff.
