Sherman, Texas - Graveside services for Delpha Heatley, age 92 will
be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the West Hill Cemetery.
Rev. Charles Hahn of the Friendship United Methodist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Heatley passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2003, at Wilson
N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas.
She was born on June 24, 1911 in Olwein, Iowa the daughter of Richard
Halstead Smith and Maude Sackville Smith.
She married B. Jack Heatley on October 4, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana,
moving to her husband's hometown of Sherman in 1949.
She graduated from Olwein schools and the University of Northern
Iowa. Mrs. Heatley was a longtime member of the Friendship United Methodist
Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Halstead Smith
and Maude Sackville Smith; husband, B. Jack Heatley; one brother, Richard
Smith and one sister, Dorothy Brooks.
She is survived by her son, Richard Heatley, Denton, Texas; daughter,
Mary Buick, Sherman, Texas; stepson, Nathan Rick Heatley, Lexington, Viriginia;
grandchildren, Bradley and Alyson Buick, Sherman, Texas; two step-grandchildren,
Nathan and Hudson Heatley, Virginia; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
including James and Helen Heatley, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Alice Aldridge, Kinta,
Oklahoma; Ruth White, California; Kittie and Leonard Miller, Lancaster,
Californi; Steve and Jean Davidchik, Sherman, Texas; Koleene Davidchik,
Duncan, Oklahpoma; David and JoAnne Davidchik, Canyon, Texas; two very
special friends, Carolee Smith and Mary Gladen, Sherman, Texas; and numerous
nieces, nephews and other family members.
Her nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November
04, 2003 at the Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made in her memory to the Friendship United Methodist Church.
