W.G. Richardson
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel
for W.G. (Gus) Richardson, 79, retired farmer and stockman of Grayson County,
who died at 9:10 p.m. Friday at a Sherman nursing home.
Services will be conducted by Olden Cook, of Travis Street Church
of Christ, with burial in West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Richardson was born near Sadler, the son of the late G.H. and
Melvina Richardson. He was married to the former Nora Brooks in 1925.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in Germany with the U.S. Army.
He was a grandson of W.L. Wilmeth, a hero at the San Jacinto battle for
Texas Independence. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the
Travis Street Church of christ.
His only survivors are nieces and nephews, including Mrs. C.C. Odle
of Denison.
Pallbearers will be M.H. Stockdale, Bill Hefton, Leon Richardson,
Floyd Bell, Johnny Siehman and Sonny Grigg
