James L. Jackson

Services for James L. Jackson, 80, of Tom Bean, TX will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday July 15, 2008 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. James passed away on July 12, 2008 at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham, TX. Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX. 
He was born in Sherman, TX on November 24, 1927 the son of R.E. and Anna Mae (James) Jackson. He graduated from Sherman High School and then served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. James then graduated from Austin College and then obtained degree's from several different Universities. He married Barbara Blankenship on June 6, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1985. James later married Emily Clifford on June 29, 1987. He loved animals, traveling, teaching and classic cars James is survived by his wife Emily, daughter Jerre Martin and husband Kennith of Prosper, TX, granddaughter Natalie Martin of Prosper, TX, step son Clifford Bucher and wife Sara of Granada Spain, step grandson Alex. He is also survived by his cousins and a host of other family and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Barbara. 
Family night will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Jim to the Area Agency on Aging Parkinson's Support Group 1117 Gallagher Drive Suite 200 Sherman, TX 75090 of Home Hospice of Grayson County 505 W. Center Street Sherman, TX 75090.
