SHERMAN - Jerry Lynn Franks, 70, went home to be with the
Lord Monday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
Mr. Franks was born Sept. 17, 1939 in Sherman, the son of Woodrow
Wilson and Edna Mae (Wolfington) Franks. Jerry served his country proudly
in the U. S. Army. He retired after more than 20 years of service from
Coca Cola Bottling Company. Jerry was a member of Elks Lodge 2280 in Sherman
for many years and served three terms as Exalted Ruler. Jerry was a very
kind and loving father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed
by his family and friends.
Mr. Franks is survived by his loving family, son Steve Lynn Franks
and wife Sharon of Sherman, daughter, Jerrica Lynn Garland of Sherman;
grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn McNutt and husband Jason, Stacie Marie Franks,
Sean Patrick Franks, Peyton Garland, Gracie Franks; great-grandchildren,
Kaleb Michael Mcnutt, Kolby Earl McNutt all of Sherman; mother, Edna Mae
Franks of Sherman; sisters, Rosa Lee Spice, Sandra Kay McCurley, Judith
Ann Carender, Linda Jo Keeling, Brenda Joyce Roper and several nieces and
nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his father.
Jerry was cremated according to his wishes with a memorial service
being held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Sherman House of Praise located
at 211 S. Walnut in Sherman with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. Private
interment will be held at a later date in West Hill Cemetery.
