Norman Fred Carlson, 68, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at
Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July
15, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sherman.
Dr. Tom Peel officiated. Interment followed at West Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were directed by Waldo Funeral Home.
Norman was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Wheatland, Wyoming, the son of Oscar
Carlson and Irene B. Barnes Carlson. He attended schools in Trinidad, Colorado
and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Janet
Fisher on Dec. 21, 1958 in Trinidad. He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, Texoma Rockhounds, Texoma Chordringers Barbershop Chorus,
and the Masonic Lodge in Howe. He retired from Texas Instruments after
20 years of employment. He also served in the Army from 1954 to 1957.
Surviving Norman are his wife, Janet Carlson of Sherman; daughters,
Margaret White and husband Eddie of Sherman, and Linda Hallmark and husband
Larry of Sherman; son, David Carlson of Sherman; brother, George Carlson
of California; grandchildren, Mindy Hall of Sherman, Christopher Hall of
Denton, Monica Bailey of Durant, and Michael Bailey of Sherman; great-grandchild,
Harley Bailey of Durant; cousin, Bonnie Short of Denver, Colo.; and one
aunt, Mabel Artery and husband Cleve of Wheatland, Wyo.

N. Elm, Sherman, TX 75090.
