Maple Youth Killed When Struck by Baseball Bat
Rudolph Jones, nine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl T. Jones, of the Maple
community, was instantly killed Tuesday afternoon when he was accidentally
struck across the neck with a baseball bat as he played during the recess
hour at the Lone Star School. Attending physicians stated that his
neck was broken and death was instantaneous. Funeral services were
held yesterday afternoon at Antioch Church of Christ with the Rev. Roy
Hazelton, of Gunter, officiating. Burial was in the Whitaker cemetery
with Helms, of Celina, conducting.
