Services will be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday at the Barrett-Hodges Funderal Chapel for Mrs. Verna M. Baker,
84, who died Sunday morning in a Sherman hospital after an extendedillness.
Rev. Johnny Johnson of the
First Methodist Church in Howe will officiate. Burial will be in
Woodmen Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker has been a resident
of this area since 1961, when she entered the Woodmen of the World home.
She was a former resident of Saxton, Mo. She was a legal stenographer
and a member of the Presbyterian church. She was born Dec. 23, 1889 in
El Dorado, Ill, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brown. She
was married Nov. 17, 1926 to James V. Baker.
Sher is survived by one nephew.
