Reuben W. Keith, wife Mary Margaret Martin, and daughter Julia Alice who later married Joe Wooten. Keith, Texas was named for this family.
Reuben donated the land on which Martin's Prairie Baptist Church was built.

1896 photo of baptisms, congregation of Martin's Prairie Baptist church. At that time, baptisms took place in Panther Creek. Still, this photo has the look of the Navasota River, down where the highway crosses it, west of Carlos. Original is from a glass-plate negative, large format and highly detailed, with many faces recognizable under magnification.
