SANDERS
William Sanders, Co. F. 11 Texas Inf. C.S.A.
The Texas 11th Infantry Regiment was formed in Houston, Texas in May 1862 and placed
under the command of Colonel Oran M. Roberts (later governor of Texas) and was
involved in several engagements including the Red River Campaign and the Camden
Expedition, two attempts by the Union to invade Texas. Company F officers were:
Captain R.P. Sibley, 1st Lieut. J.H. Oliphant, 2nd Lieut. W.T. Eddington, and 2nd
Lieut. W.T. Nurris.

I have the 1986 Union Hill Cemetery list done by John Maxwell of Grimes County. Here
are the names that he listed that are not on your list:
1). Johnnie H. Smith, b. Aug 10, 1882, d. Oct 25, 1884 (son of S.P. and A.L.)
MY NOTES: The parents are Samuel Pryor Smith and his second wife, Annie Leslie
(Unknown). They are both buried in Bedias Cemetery.
2). Infant McDougald - born and died Sept 7, 1897. Son of A.O. and M.A. McDougald.
MY NOTES: Allen Oscar McDougald and Martha Ann McGilberry are his parents.

* These two graves are "known" to be in this cemetery near the graves of W.H. and
Nancy Manly. They are two of their children. Bessie was first married to Marsh
Williams and second to ____ Myers. She was born Aug 1881 according to the 1900
census of Grimes County. She was a widow with one son, John D. Williams, born May,
1900.

GenWeb Site, you list M.E. Cleghorn's death date as Feb. 17. On John Maxwell's
list the death date is Feb. 7.
2). Eliza Ann McDugald - I have listed that her maiden name was Barryman, not West.
I believe I got that from McDugald information given to me by Elizabeth Neff.
3). Joseph W.N. McDugald, b. AL, married Rebecca Reece (maiden name). (again McDugald
information from Elizabeth Neff).
4). McGilberry Family:
a. Infant McGilberry (Name addition) - Son of Johnny Jefferson McGilberry and
Mary Elizabeth (Bet) Barnett. Johnny Jefferson McGilberry's parents were John
McGilberry and Lucinda Lary. Mary Elizabeth Barnett's parents were John

spelled "Layman". On your list, one of the Lyman people, Annie, has her surname
spelled "Laymann". You have her birthdate as Jan 19, 1876. John Maxwell has the
date as Jan 29, 1876.
9). Emma Hall Blount - You have Emily. John Maxwell lists Emma.
10). Abbie Wood Franklow - as listed by John Maxwell - b. 1873 d. 1901
11). The name of Marion Myers and Sarah Myers was spelled "Myers" by John Maxwell.
