Free
Personal Ancestral File Software
|
The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS Church) has free
family tree software you can try, too. This is really one of the
best. It is standardized and has the ability to grow with your
needs. ( I use this one as well.) It has multi-language support,
including German, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Swedish.

Legacy
Family Tree Software
|
Produced
by the Millennia Corporation. This company is giving away a free
copy of the full retail version of the software for you to
download and try. The navigation and several of the functions are
more complicated than Family Tree Maker or Ancestral Quest. (I use
this one too.)

Family
Tree Maker
|
One of
the first "user friendly GUI" on the market. Ancestry.com
Software has a free trial download for Family Tree Maker. It is
one of the more widely used software packages. Excellent
import and export capabilities. (I started with FTM and still
utilize it with 45000+ individuals and growing.)

|
| |
Ancestral
Quest
|
An
exciting Windows program that makes it possible for anyone to do
genealogy. It is easy-to-learn, fun to use and packed with
powerful features. (I use this program also.) A Demo is available for download.

is also a version for users of Access 2000 or better. If you
know how to use access, this is a great program.

is a program that inputs genealogical data in GEDCOM format, and
outputs a collection of HTML files suitable for presentation on the
World Wide Web. The input format it accepts is based on the GEDCOM
5.5 standard. The output produced consists of HTML files containing

individual by name, an auxiliary surname index with links to the
first individual with each surname, and a special index file
suitable for use by automatic indexing programs. The output is
highly configurable.
