Henry Markum,62, of Byrum died in a Hillsboro hospital Wednesday morning. Mr. Markum was born in Nashville, Tenn He came to Hill County at the age of 9. At that time he settled at Bynum and has made his home there since. He was owner and operator of the Magnolia Service Station at Bynum. He was a member of the Bynum Baptist Church. Mr. Markum married the former, Miss Jewell Hammock, Sept. 6, 1941. He is survived by his wife, one son, Pvt. Henry Dean Markum; four daughters, Mrs. Doyle Morris of Bynum, Mrs. B.W. Gilmore of McKinney, Mrs. W.G. Washburn of Beaumont, and Mrs. W.F. Goodman of Falfurias; one sister, Mrs. O.T. White of Houston, and one brother, Jessie Markum of Fort Worth. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 23, at 5 p.m. from the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home with the Rev. Bud Fray of Bynum and the Rev. J. Dee Cates of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will be in the Salem-Irene Cemetary.
