Hillsboro Mirror Obituary Notice dated Dec. 28, 1932:
Isaac G. Markum passed away rather suddenly at the family residence near Bynum at 9:15 Sunday night, aged 64 years, 5 months, and 1 day. Funeral services were held at the Bynum Church of Christ at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon conducted by Elder Edward Stewart of Fort Worth. Interment was in Brandon Cemetary under the direction of Marshall & Marshall. Pallbearers were Hugh Rankin, O. Burgess, Buck Burnett, Chas. Burgress, Martin House and George White. Mr. Markum was born at Woodberry, Tenn, July 24th, 1868. He came to Texas in 1902 locating in Hill County and had resided here since. He was married to Miss Addie Mitchell in 1885. Mrs. Markum died in 1912. He was then married to Mrs. Martha Wylie in 1924. Mr. Markum obeyed the gospel and united with the Bynum Church of Christ 24 years ago. Surviving are his wife, two brothers, W.B. of Jean and C.B. of Ft. Worth, four sisters, Mrs. Jean Webb of Malone, Mrs. John Stone of Waco, Mrs. J.B. Bailey of Denton and Mrs. Robert Brown of Denton and the following children: Nolle of Abbott, R.R. of Ft. Worth, H.C. of Brandon, Nile of Old Glory, Tx, T.L. of Purdon, J.T. of Bynum and Mrs. O.T. White of Huntsville; 27 grandchildren also survive and three great grandchildren.
