LEE PERRY

   Mr. Lee Perry, 75, of Mertens, died Thursday afternoon, May 17, as a result of injuries suffered in a traffic accident.  He was born October 3, 1908, in Mertens and had lived there all his life.  A farmer an rancher, he also owned a grocery store for many years.  Married to Connie Briggs in 1932, she died in 1967.  He was married to Ola Mae Reaves in 1968.  Mr. Perry was a member of Mertens Masonic Lodge No. 828, a deacon at Mertens Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Survivors include his wife; two sons, E.L. Perry, Jr. of Houston and Malcolm Conley Perry of League City; one brother, Ernest Perry of Mertens; one sister, Tera Kramme of Mertens; and five grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Marshall an Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Walts and Rev. Bill Smith officiating.  Burial was at Richland Cemetery in Mertens with Masonic services.
