It is our sad duty to chronicle the death in this city of little Edna Cheatham, only child of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Cheatham, at the age of 11 months and 12 days.
It is hard for the sorrowing parents to give up their little darling, she was so bright, sweet and winsome, yet they bow to the will of the Lord, Jesus, knowing that he doeth all things well and that though they cannot see their blue eyed golden haired treasure again on this earth, they can go to her in that heavenly home where she is now safe in the arms of the blessed Master.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church on Tuesday, conducted by Eld. J. C. Eubanks of Hubbard city. A large concourse of sympathizing people assembled there and accompanied the remains to the last resting place, and after the grave was filled, covering the fresh earth with beautiful flowers.
Although Mr. and Mrs. Cheatham were almost entirely strangers here, our people showed every attention possible so much so that old friends could not have done more to comfort the sorrowing ones. In this the hour of their affliction we can only commend them to the only One who is able to comfort them and gently remind them that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.
