George C. Orenbaun died at 5:45 p. m. Monday at his home on West Franklin Street, aged 70 years, 2 months and 21 days. Mr. Orenbaum had been ill for several years and his death was not altogether unexpected by his family. He was afflicted with Bright’s disease.
Deceased was born in Rockbridge County, Va, February 2, 1824, moved to Texas in 1847 and settled in Leon County, where he lived until 1874, when he located at Hillsboro. He lived a life among his fellow citizens that is worthy of imitation. He was a member of the Baptist church, devoted to his family, and always ready and willing to give a helping hand to the needy. Honored by all who knew him, and loved by many, he goes to receive his reward.
A wife and seven children are left to mourn his death. The names of his children are as follows: Mrs. J. V. Cantelon, Ida, Will, Ed, Emma, Jim and Stella. He also left two brothers, T. R. And J. H. living in this county and a sister, Mrs. Susan Yarbrough of Alvarado.
The funeral services were conducted at the residence yesterday at half past three o’clock by Rev. H. O. Rosamon, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery.
