Sarah Jane Cockrell

HILLSBORO EVENING MIRROR- Oct. 23, 1912

IN MEMORIAM

The death of Mrs. Sarah Jane Cockrell occurred at her home 7 miles north of Hillsboro on the 15th of October 1912, with interment taking place Wednesday in the Itasca Cemetery.

Mrs. Cockrell was born and reared in Alabama and moved to Texas 15? ( hard to read) years ago with her husband and children; her husband dying two years later.

Deceased lived in the Itasca and Lovelace communities since coming to Texas and was well known.  She lived a devoted, Christian life and was a true and loving Mother.  She leaves eight children, three sons and five daughters, all of whom live near Itasca except two; Mrs. M. E. England, Hillsboro; and Mrs. Sallie Hamilton of Coleman, Texas.  She also leaves 18 grandchildren.

We desire through the Mirror to thank our many neighbors and friends for their many deeds of kindness and words of sympathy during the long period of our dear Motherís sickness and after her death. None but those who have been blessed with such friends know how to appreciate them.  Should you ever meet with sorrow and grief such as ours may we be ever ready to share yours as you have ours, and may Godís richest blessings rest upon each and every one of you, is our prayer.
