MIRROR- 26th Sept 1900- page 6
Monday about 11 o’clock W. C. Parsons, who lived five miles west of town, was leading two mules through a gate by ropes when one of them pulled back. The ropes got tangles around his wrists and the mules ran away, dragging him some distance. He struck a post and sustained injuries, from which he died at 10 o’clock this morning.
His remains were interred in the Peoria Cemetery this afternoon. He left a wife and three sons and daughters. He was a highly esteemed citizen.
