AGED PIONEER DIED THURSDAY
W. M. Webb, Citizen of Woodbury Community Since 1878, Passes Away at the age of 94 years. Wife of 70 years survives at age 93, and children are well known and prominent in county. Funeral services held Friday afternoon.
W. M. Webb, pioneer resident of Hill County, died at his home in the Woodbury community at 10:05 o’clock Thursday night, December 1, aged 94 years, 8 months and 5 days. Funeral services were held at the Peoria Presbyterian church at 2:30 this afternoon conducted by Rev. Fred Forrester of Fort Worth. Interment was in Peoria cemetery with Marshall and Marshall in charge.
Mr. Webb was born in Choctaw County, Mississippi, March 26, 1838, coming to Texas in 1878 and has lived in the vicinity of Peoria and Woodbury since that time. He was married to Miss Jane Bennett 70 years ago. Mrs. Webb is still living and is past 93. Deceased united with the church 55 years ago and at the time of his death was a member of the Baptist Church at Woodbury.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jane Webb; two sons, Will G. Webb, Whitney; J. C. Webb, Osceola; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Hill, Blum and Mrs. Annie Campbell, Osceola.
