Peabody Marker Ceremony
The New Beginnings for Peabody group has set the date for the dedication of the Peabody School state historical marker to coincide with the annual Hillsboro Homecoming Event. The marker dedication is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 203 Francis Street . In past years the event has begun with a parade that ended in Abbott’s Grove ( Historic City Park ) but this year the group is planning to continue the parade but have the family/luncheon events on the grounds of the Peabody School on Francis Street .
