History of the Cemetery

The Boone Cemetery is the newest cemetery in Henderson County Texas and was founded in August 1993.
This is a small family owned Cremetory Cemetery.
The first burial was that of Johnnie Jean (Mitchell) Boone, daughter of Bert Littleton and Bonelyn (Loving) Mitchell, and wife of Paul Hollis Boone.
She died August 6, 1993 and after cremation, was buried in the cemetery with a small concrete marker, marking her grave. The Boone Family Association is in the process of purchasing gravemarkers for other members of the family who do not have them.
The next burial was that of her husband who died August 23, 1999. He has a military marker marking his grave.
His family were long time residents of Henderson County Texas. Other members of his family are buried in the Mankin Cemetery, Oaklawn Memorial Park and Athens City Cemetery.
The Boone Cemetery is maintained and cared for by the descendants of the couple.
