|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| First, my grandmother's name was "Anna(h)" Dolphus (Sealy) McShan. I believe this to be true because her father Lorenzo Buford Sealy handwrote it with the "h". Everyone called her "Annie" however. I know that Jane McAshan's family genealogy says her name was Anne, but I really do not believe that to be her name, it is Anna/Annah. Second, her mother was Delilah Williams (Parham) Sealy. Her middle name was Williams. Strange, but I know this to be true because my mother, her granddaughter was named after her with the middle name (Nuel Williams (McShan) McKissack). The listing seems that Williams was a last name somehow. Third, you have listed "Lowell" Bowie McShan. It really was "Lovell" [Fourth, is not an error, but I guess just for information. Thomas Edna (Skiles) McShan was my aunt and was called "Essie". I have always supposed as a shortened form of her initials E.S.(ie). This is just my guess, but it does make sense. It might be nice to list her nickname if you want to somehow.] Ruth Anderton anderton@airmail.net |
