J. C. Wood
The above named is another native Texan who has spent his entire
life in Henderson county. He was born in 1859 near Athens. His
father, Doctor Wood, is mentioned elsewhere in this issue. Mr.
Wood has been very successful in business life. Stock raising in
the western part of the county, farming and merchandising have
been his employments. as one of the firm of Reierson, Wood &
Scott he is known to nearly every citizen of the county.
Mr. Wood married a daughter of J. M. Pickens. They have three
children, Hamlet and Dred, and one little girl, Josephine, all
bright children.
Mr. Wood is a very accomplished gentleman, who is conservative
and liberal in his vi (here the page is blacked out on the edge)
and not as all exclusive. (here the page is blacked out on the
edge) country and such men as (here the page is blacked out on
the edge) produced in cannot be cousin (here the page is blacked
out on the edge) lacking in those surroundings (here the page is
blacked out on the edge) are prevailed in the most (here the page
is blacked out on the edge) countries. He has fine property, a
flue house in the city. (here the page is blacked out on the
edge) has around him all the conviences and associations that
(here the page is blacked out on the edge) der life pleasant and
worthy.
