AARON and CARLILE FAMILIES
AARON-CARLILE
Oscar Lee Aaron, a farmer and stockman, was born in Murchison, Texas in 1912,
and lived in the Pine Grove Community of Henderson Co. until his death in 1962.
In 1932, he married Willis Lucille Boone. Their children are Myrtle McNew, Mary
Jo Tanner, Mary Ann Thomas, all of Athens, Jackie Clements of Graham, Tx., and
Elva Ruth Carlile, currently of Ardmore OK.
Oscar Aaron was the son of Joseph Monroe Aaron and Mary Catherine McLean.
Joseph Aaron’s parents were George Aaron and Nancy Ingram. Mary McLean Aaron’s
parents were Lafayette “Fate” McLean and Nancy Bright. The Aaron, Ingram, McLean
and Bright families are from Mississippi.
Lucille Boone Aaron, was born 1915 in Henderson Co., was the daughter of Emmett
Boone and Albina Holcombe. Emmett Boone’s parents were John C. Boone and
Laura T. Stephens. This Boone line can be traced back to Thomas Boone, who
immigrated from England to Isle of Wight, VA. in 1663. Albina Holcombe Boone’s
parents were James Marion Holcombe and Laura Gantt. The Holcombe line can
be traced back to William Holcombe in Virginia by 1680.
Jesse Marion Carlile was a farmer, stockman, and sawmill operator in Anderson
Co., Texas, where he was born in 1890. In 1932 he married Lillian E. Perritt in
Henderson Co. Their children are Jesse Marvin, J. T., Rita, Maida June, and Jimmy
Don. After leaving Springfield, Texas the family lived in Cayuga, Texas where
Lillian operated Mom’s Cafe.
Jesse Marion Carlile was the son of John Thomas Carlile and Elizabeth Melissa
Arthus. John Carlile parent’s were John William and Mary Ann “Polly” Carlile.
Elizabeth Arthus Carlile was the daughter of James K. Polk Arthus and Lydia Ann
Simmons Roach. James Arthus was the son of Tolbert and Asenith Arthus. Lydian
Simmons Arthus was the daughter of John H. and Eliza Simmons. The Carlile family
came to Texas from Alabama and the Arthus family from Tennessee.
Lillian Perritt Carlile was the daughter of James Andrew Perritt and Mattie Marie
Yarbrough, and she was born in Hico, Texas in 1908. James Perritt’s parents were
Randolph G. Perritt and Manora Holt. Mattie Yarbrough Perritt’s parents were
Ambrose B. Yarbrough and Bura Ann E. Evans. The Yarbrough family came to
Texas from Alabama and the Perritt family from Louisiana.
Jesse Marvin Carlile, Sr. son fo Jesse Marion and Lillian Carlile, born in 1933 in
Ft. Worth, Texas, and Elva Ruth Aaron, born in 1936 in Murchison, Texas, the
daughter of Oscar and Lucille Aaron, were married March 5, 1954, in Waco, Texas.
In 1969 they returned to Henderson Co., and bought Payne’ Flower Shop in Athens,
Texas. After Jesse Marvin Carlile, Sr. died in 1972, Ruth Carlile sold the flower
shop, but continues to work as a florist.
Jesse and Ruth Carlile had five children; Cathy Ruth, who still lives in Athens
with her two children, April Thorton and Brandy Logan, Jesse Marvin, Jr., who lives
in Oklahoma with his wife Lanee and their children Gerald and Rebecca Carlile,
Shannon Archey, and Lanee and T. J. Martin, James Darren, who lives in Oregon
with Cindy and their children, Lillian, Clayton, and Mary Beth. Martha Sue also
lives in Oregon with her children Gary and Tarah Martin, and Joseph Wayne lives
in Oklahoma with his wife Linda and their children Bryan, Kelvie and Shauna.
