Meet Your Coordinator

Hill County, Texas was formed from Navarro County and came into her own 14 May 1853. Dr. George Washinton Hill was the secretary of war and secretary of the navy in Sam Houston's cabinet for whom the county is named. After the annexation, Hill resumed the practice of medicine in Navarro County.

Did you know that Abbott, Texas is the home of Willie Nelson? You can read more about his family roots here! The T. B. Pharmacy is the oldest pharmacy in Hill County. Hubbard is the home of illistrator/painter Mark English. Ghost sightings have been recorded all over the county but the most noted are at Ash Creek, Cottonbell Lake Dam, and at a Mount Calm Burial ground. Did you know there is a GenWeb for kids?
