ROPESVILLE (Special) - Services for Beatrice "Bea" Briggs, 85, of Ropesville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Ropesville with the Revs. Oscar Battin, William Titus and Phillip Demetro officiating.

Burial will be in Ropesville Cemetery under direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.

She died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, in Levelland.

She had been a Ropesville resident since 1937, moving there from Trenton.

She owned Buster's Gin Cafe in Busterville for 13 years, and was lunch room supervisor for Ropes Independent School District.

She was very active in the Ropesville Senior Citizens.

She married Otha Kent Briggs on Nov. 28, 1928, in Trenton. He died in 1980. A son, Otha Kent Briggs Jr., died in 1931. A daughter, Bettie Jane Moore, died in 1989.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ropesville.

Survivors include a son, Jim Briggs of Levelland; a sister, Cornelia Paleteria of Redwood, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Family Care, 1212 13th St., Lubbock, 79401, and to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2608 74th Place, Lubbock 79423.
