Services for Robert N. Sullivan, 93, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Embery, a church strategist for New Mexico Southern Baptist Convention, and the Rev. Greg Kinch, pastor of Ropesville Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Sullivan died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, in Methodist Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1903, in Montague County. He moved to Lubbock County from Vernon in 1922. He moved to Ropesville in 1940. He married Jewel Love on Dec. 7, 1922, in Chillicothe. She died June 21, 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ropesville, and he was named the oldest farmer on the South Plains by the Texas Department of Agriculture for District 2 in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Pierce of Ropesville and Barbara Embery of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church in Ropesville.
