            Services for Arzie Martin, 90, of Ropesville will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Ropesville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Dotts, chaplain of Methodist Hospital officiating.
         Burial will be in the Ropesville Cemetery under direction of Franklin-Bartley FuneralHome.
         Martin died Wednesday, June 12, 1996, in Lynwood Manor in Levelland.
         He was born March 9, 1906, in McMinnville, Tennessee.  He moved to Ropesville from Paris, Texas in 1925.  He married Roxie Cooper on October 29, 1929 in Lubbock.  She died May 30, 1996.
         He owned several businesses in the Ropesville area and he helped build Ropesville United Methodist Church.  Two sons, Raymond and Clifford, preceded him in death.
         Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Levelland and Billy Ray of Howe, Ok.; two daughters, Jesse Faye Martin of Ropesville and Helen Hazelbaker of Smyer; a sister, Lucy Littlefield of Ropesville; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
         The family suggests memorials to Ropesville United Methodist Church.

Roxie Martin

    Memorial services for Roxie C. Martin, 87, of Ropesville, Hockley County, Texas will be at 10:00 a.m. today at Ropesville United Methodist Church with Daniel Echols of Ropesville and Meadow United Methodist Church officiating.
        Burial will be in the Ropesville Cemetery under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
        She died Thursday, May 30, 1996 at her home.
        She was born August 23, 1908 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma.  In 1928, she moved to Ropesville.  She married Arzie Raymond Martin on October 29, 1929 in Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.
        She was a member of the Ropesville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Senior Citizens of Ropesville.
        She was a homemaker.  Two sons preceded her in death, Raymond in 1957 and Clifford in 1982.
        Survivors include her husband; two sons, Leonard of Levelland, Hockley County, Texas, Billy Ray of Howe; two daughters, Jessie Faye Martin of Ropesville and Helen Hazelbaker of Smyer, County, Texas; a stepsister, Maxine Clark; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
        The family suggests memorials to Hospice Family Care, Inc., 1408 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas  79401; or to Senior Citizens at Ropesville.
