Koontz |
Linda Willis |
I have been working on research of the family -- descendants and ancestors -- of Robert M. and Martha J. BONDURANT Koontz for over ten years. Another researcher, a descendant of Robert's brother, who lives in St. Charles, Missouri, and I are working with a group of Koontz researchers.
Robert M. Koontz was the brother of Andrew Brown Koontz who settled in or around Black Jack Grove, Cumby, Hopkins County in the 1840s. The brothers were from Cooper Co., MO, sons of Alexander and Susan MARTIN Koontz of Nicholas Co., VA/WV and Cooper Co., MO. Robert followed Andrew to Hopkins County later.
We would welcome to our group descendants of either Robert M. Koontz or Andrew Brown Koontz with photos, stories, histories, et cetera. We are especially working on Y-DNA research when we get back to Virginia and Pennsylvania and hope to find males with the surname Koontz.
Descendants today live in Dallas and other parts of the country.

My gg grandfather was Hugh Allison Montgomery. His first wife was Drucilla Paralee Posey Montgomery. Drucilla is buried in Shooks Cemetery – she died Jan 1892.
They came from Calhoun County , Alabama sometime around 1875 and had two children when they arrived and several others thereafter. I believe that after Drucilla died, Hugh picked up and left for the Non, Oklahoma area.

Woolf |
Ronnie L. Cooke |
I am researching my Grandmother's family. Her Grandfather was Henry Woolf, lived in and is buried in Hopkins Co. He,his 2nd wife and 3 of their children are in the Long Cemetery, Hopkins Co. I have 2 requests for help.
1. Is there anyone or any way that photos could be taken of their headstones and e-mailed to me? Maybe with a digital camera?
2. Henry's 1st wife, Martha Matilda Whitesides Woolf died in Hopkins Co. in 1858. He remarried in 1874. I cannot find where she is buried but it should be in Hopkins Co. Can someone do a look up in the death records or wherever?
