My BLUE family was mostly around Tarrant County after they came to Texas. Recently I was told that A.BLUE bought land in Hudspeth County. My gg grandfather was Amaziah Blue but he always signed all documents as A.Blue. He came to Texas about 1840/50 and I wonder if this person buying the land is my gg grandfather. Does anyone know of a Blue family in Hudspeth County? Thanks - Reply to: dgreen1013@aol.com

I'm Ron Miller and I am currently assigned as the Command Historian for the Eighth US Army with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. The Commanding General is interested in naming a building after Benito Martinez. Martinez was a Korean War Medal of Honor recipient and he was born and raised in Fort Hancock, Texas. I have a copy of his Medal of Honor citation that recounts his heroic deeds; however, I would like to provide the Commanding General with some background information - to add a personal touch. Would you know the names of his parents and siblings? Lastly, what schools did he attend during his youth and what activities did he participate in (i.e. sports, Boy Scouts, 4-H Club)? Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your kind consideration. - Reply to: millerr@korea.army.mil

I have an obit. in my family bible for Mrs. Mary A. Thommee who was killed by a Southern Pacific freight train in the Sierra Blanca train yard. She was 79 years old when she died. It stated that her husband were in the jewelry business in Del Rio then later moved to Sierra Blanca and opened the Thommee mine near town. It does not list her husbands name, any children or dates. It states she was buried at the Sierra Blanca cemetary. Services were held by Rev. J.I. Kelly, pastor of the Methodist church. Another family member obit I have listed her last name as Tommie. Mary's sister, Alice, died in 1935 and did not list Mary as a living sibling so I assumme Mary died before 1935. If anyone has any information please e-mail me. - Reply to: audraswart@hotmail.com
