(December 4, 1930, The Greenville Messenger)

Celeste, November 20, 1930--Friends here and elsewhere joined yesterday with Mrs. Duncan (Grandma) Kennedy in the celebration of her 90th birthday.

The celebration was planned by her granddaughters, Mrs. Leon Puckett and Mrs. Albert Norris, and the party was given at the Norris home.

Mrs. Kennedy is pioneer of Hunt County and four generations of the family have been reared here.

Friends called from the hour of three until five o'clock and during this time Mrs. Kennedy received her guests and in a very lovely talk thanked her family and friends for their many gifts, their letters, and their many thoughtful acts of kindness through all the years of her long life.  On this occasion, she wore a black dress with old lace at her throat and a beautiful corsage of roses.  A beautiful birthday cake with all the candles was placed in the center of the dining table.
