Alvin Medlin was drowned in the big Santa Fe pool at Celeste last Friday.
Alvin and three other boys went swimming in the pool and by some means Alvin lost his force and was swallowed up before his comrades could save him.
His comrades succeeded in getting the body out, but too late to save his life.
Alvin Medlin was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Medlin, of Celeste, his father being a blacksmith there. He was twenty years old and was a splendid young man and very popular. His death caused great sorrow in the community and general sympathy for the bereaved family.
