B.D. (Bill) Williams, 71, of Greenville died Nov. 19, 2006, at Sherman after a long struggle with lung cancer and Lambert-Eaton Syndrome.

“Billy Don” was born Sept. 9, 1935, near Greenville to J. R. (Jack) and Ruby Williams. He graduated from Greenville High School where he received the top award for math and science. In 1957 he graduated from Texas A&M College where he also received a commission in the United States Air Force. A longtime resident of Greenville, he worked as an aeronautical engineer for Temco, then E-Systems for many years. Together with a cousin, Kenneth Parker, he established an air-conditioning business, Delta T Systems, in the mid-1970s. Later he was a partner in the firm East Texas Engineering, Inc. Beginning in the 1980s he worked for Wright’s Air Conditioning Company for many years.

He was a Registered Professional Engineer.

He is survived by sons Kevin Williams and wife Susan of Edmond, Okla., and David Williams and wife Jill of Greenville; grandchildren Jeremy Williams and Jennifer Williams of Edmond, Okla., and Jillian Williams and James Vaughan of Greenville; a nephew, Keith Slemmons and wife Pety of Royse City; nieces Connie Slemmons of Sugar Land and Lei Ann Starling and daughter Cori of Hendersonville, N.C.; and special friends Linda Hollywood and Idanell Campbell, Shayla Lewis and husband Mathew, Stacy Trentham and husband Frank, Danell Hartford and husband David, Morgan Lewis, Caden Lewis, Trey Trentham, Haley Trentham, Aja Hartford and Bali Hartford, all of Greenville. His parents and a sister, Barbara Slemmons, preceded him in death.

The deceased and family especially wish to thank longtime friends Linda and James Livingston, Linda and Ralph Hollywood, Jill Williams, Danell Hartford and other caretakers and medical professionals that have provided loving care and support for the past several years. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville. There will be no formal funeral service; the deceased has requested that the remains be cremated and scattered. A family memorial will be held in Greenville at a later date.
