Twilla WADE of Perrin has returned from Littlefield.
Mr. and Mrs. J.L. BROWN of Perrin visited Dallas.
Mrs. W.C. MASK of Perrin returned from visiting her
daughter in Raton NM.
Miss Gladys FERGUSON and Mr. Joe SHOWN were united
in marriage May 14, 1947, at the Church of Christ in Seymour.
The Jacksboro High student sponsors entertained the senior class with a prom after the junior-senior banquet. The canteen was arranged for a Mexican fiesta. Guests included the juniors, seniors, canteen members, faculty, and friends. Punch and cookies were served through-out the evening.

The Ides TURNER home in Perrin was set on fire early
Tuesday morning, May 20, when struck by lightening. The radio
and other furnishings were damaged. Just a short time ago the
house was papered and painted on the inside.

This week the Gazette begins its 68th year of continuous
publication. During the first week of June, 1880, hte first issue
was put out in the Springdale Community, and in November of the
same year it was brought to Jacksboro. In 1919 it was consolidated
with the Jacksboro News.
Mr. and Mrs. Alf SEWELL of Arlington are visiting relatives

Mrs. Oscar SIMPSON has returned from a visit with her
sister in Arkansas.

very ill.

June 12, 1947:
Miss Joyce Evelyn Bennett and Mrs. Troy L. Gregg
of Jacksboro were united im mariage at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orton Bennett Jr. of Bryson, June
4, at 4:30 pm by Reverend N. Engle-breecht. Those present
besides the bride's parents were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Orton Bennett, Sr., her younger brother, Jerry Pat, and
Miss Marthan Lon Blagg. The bride wore a navy blue sheer
dress with white accessories and a corsage of white hardenias.
She is an honor graduate of Bryson High School. They will make
their home in Jacksboro.
Mrs. J. M. Johnson, 78, died at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Earl Johnson, at Perrin, at 12:25 pm Friday, June
6, 1947.

Robert Ellis is in Case Grande, Mexico, doing photography
and painting.
Mr. Norman Horn, son of Mr. Ed Horn of Bryson
and Miss Jackie Rodgers were married Friday morning, June
6, at the county court house in Jacksboro, after having made the
journey from Muskogee< Oklahoma, where both reside.They will
continue to make their home in Muskogee where Mr. Horn
is engaged in the construction business.
Tom Stephens of Jacksboro, spent the weekend in the
H. D. Lemond home.
Kenneth Schmittou was chosen as one of the state's all-star
basketball players in Fort Worth last week.
Mrs. C. C. Stark has been visiting her daughter, Mrs.
Otis Epps, and family at Frazier.
Sherrill Vincent and family of Fort Worth were weekend
visitors here with home folks.
Mrs. Fred Gladden of California has been visiting Mrs. Mabel Gladden.
