Friends of Sabine Pass
Battleground was formed in November 2008 by members of historic
preservation and heritage groups to create an organization dedicated to
preserving and interpreting the Battleground and historic sits in the
area. Members include descendants of Confederate and Union
veterans and the general public interested in military history.
The organization
publishes a newsletter entitled Sabine Pass Beacon.
The Beacon is a well-written, informative publication that
contains numerous original articles about the battle and the people and
events surrounding it. If you are interested in finding out more
about Friends or the Beacon, contact
Ed Cotham, Editor.
