| Walton, Worth |
Worth Walton, M.D., born Nov. 29, 1918 in Ft. Worth, TX passed away
Aug. 27, 2003 in Houston, TX at the age of 84 years & 9 months. Dr.
Walton graduated from Paschal H.S. in Ft. Worth in 1936, attended TCU
1936-37, graduated UT-Austin, College of Pharmacy in 1940, graduated
UTMB Galveston 1951, UTMB residency in psychiatry 1962-65. Dr. Walton
worked as a pharmacist for a year after graduating, and then volunteered
for the U.S. Naval Reserve, Aug., 5, 1941. He served shore duty at
Corpus Christi, TX, Norfolk, VA and Jacksonville, FL before requesting
sea duty in 1943. His first ship was the seagoing tug U.S.S. Umpqua,
later swapping ships with another Pharmacist's Mate he joined the crew
of the U.S.S. Tattnall. While aboard the U.S.S. Tattnall he was credited
by his fellow shipmates for saving the ship during a hurricane by
catching and holding a depth charge that had broken loose during the
storm. While on the U.S.S. Tattnall, Dr. Walton participated in three
major battles during the invasions of Pianosa/Elba, southern France and
Okinawa. Dr. Walton practiced medicine in Baytown, Houston, Beaumont,
and the Texas Prison System in Huntsville. He retired from the Prison
System in 1993. Worth was married to Ida K. Walton, M.D. for 56 years
and predeceased him on Nov. 21, 2002. He is survived by: two sons,
Arthur Walton and Mark Walton; beloved grandchildren, Jeffery, Erin,
Alison, Alexandria and Jonathon Walton; sisters, Pauline Walton West of
Ft. Worth, TX and Maxine Walton Allen of Arlington, TX; numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives survive. Funeral services are set for
Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands
Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Douglas officiating. The family will receive
friends from 5-8 PM on Sat., Aug. 30, 2003 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Forest Park

| Watts, Lawrence C. |
Lawrence C. Watts, 92, of Chester, passed away Thursday, August 28,
2003 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Funeral services will be
Friday, August 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the Enon Baptist Church in Chester
with burial in Seamans Cemetery. He was a lifelong resident of Chester
and was a retired supervisor with Mobil Oil Refinery and member of Enon
Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Powell
Watts and grandson, Ronald D. Watts, Jr. He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Ronald D. and Sylvia Watts, and Robert L. and JennaCoy
Watts, all of Chester; daughter, Saundra Watts Kattawar of Jasper; six

O.B. Watts, 93, of Anahuac,Texas died Friday, December l9, 2003 at
San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. He was a native of Raywood,
Texas and was a former resident of Port Arthur,Texas before
moving to Anahauc 20 years ago. He was a retired construction super-intendent
and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2003 at
Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will be in Greenlawn
Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2003 from
5:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
He is survived by his son, J.B. Watts and wife,Maxine of Anahuac, Texas;
17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great
grandchildren. |
| Weber, James Anthony |
James Anthony Weber, 79, of Groves, Texas died Tuesday, December 23,
2003 at Park Place Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan City,
Louisiana and lifelong Port Arthur Area resident. He was a retired
assistant to manager of employee relations from Texaco with over 35
years of service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic
Church, B.P.O.E. Beaumont Lodge and held offices as past exalted ruled,
and esteemed leading knight. He was a World War II veteran serving in
the 487th Bomb Group 8th Air Force and received the European African
Middle Eastern Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars; Air Medal with 2 Bronze
Clusters; Good Conduct Medal ; l Overseas Bar;
and 200l Thank You America Certificate from Consul General of France.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Joseph Weber, Sr and
Ella Polaski Weber.
Services will be at l0:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2003 at St.
Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas with Rev. Thuc
Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under
the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves,Texas.
Visitation will be Friday, December 26, 2003 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m
with a rosary services conducted at 6:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Glora Rothmann Weber of Groves,Texas; two
daughters, Kay McBeath and husband, Dexter of Lumberton, Texas, Jill
Dufour and husband, Andy of Richmond,Texas; sister, Mary Lou Thomas and
husband, Joseph of Port Arthur,Texas; two brothers, Wilson J. Weber,Jr.
and wife, JoAnn of Groves,Texas, John P. Weber, Sr. and wife, Faye of
Port Arthur, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Royce Rothmann and wife Delores
of Port Neches, Texas, Dr. George Kunze of Warda, Texas; three
grandchildren, James Dufour of Houston, Texas, Allison Dufour and Anne
Dufour both of Richmond, Texas; eight nieces and eight
nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to Joyce Guy and
Addie Marsh for 3 years of tender loving care and devotion to their good
friend.

| White, Yvonne P. |
Yvonne P. White, 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December
3, 2003. During Yvonne's early years, she resided in Kountze and was a
former resident of Nederland having retired to Toledo Bend the past 15
years. She was a graduate of Kountze High School and she earned her
Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Education from Lamar University. For
over 20 years, she was a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary in Nederland.
As a member of Toledo Baptist Church, she formerly served as choir
director and Sunday School Teacher. Yvonne was very active in her church
and also found time to share her love of flower gardening with others as
well as serving as Librarian to the Community Center. Her other
interests included cooking and researching family genealogy. Survivors
include her husband, Wendall White of Toledo Bend; two sons, Wendall L.
White, Jr. of Port Arthur, Benjamine Stephen White and wife, Kathy of
Van Alstyne, TX; daughter, Colleen Moss of Orange; sister, Theresa
Musgrove and husband, Cecil of Moss Bluff, LA.; four grandchildren,
Tiffany, Carrie, Kristie and Stephen and one great granddaughter,
Alexis. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 6th in the
Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Cliff Schadler will officiate
with interment following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A time of
remembrance will be today, December 5th from 5-9 PM in the funeral home.

Celestine was born in Church Point, Louisiana on April 27, 1913. She
departed her life on December 1, 2003 at Bayside Community Hospital.
Services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2003 at First Missionary
Baptist Church in Anahuac, Texas. Viewing will be from 11am-1pm, with
funeral service starting at 1pm, under the direction of Robey's Funeral
Home. |

Freddie "Dripper" Boyd Williams, age 83, of Beaumont died November
29, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral services will be
held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist
Church and burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held
on Friday, December 5, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Chapel on
Irma Street. Those left to cherish his memories are his two step sons:
Moses Patrick Jones and Leo Victoria both of Seattle, Washington; eight
daughters, Barbara E. Jackson, Joyce baker, Linda Biages, Kathryn
Williams, Charlotte Williams and Donna Fontenot all of Beaumont, Sharon
Coleman of Houston, and Anna Marie Williams of Seattle Washington; one
brother, Clifton L. Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister Kathryn
Fontenot of Beaumont; sixteen grandchildren; twenty two great

| Wills, Charlotte Marie Baszile |
God in all His wonderful splendor showered Charlotte Marie Baszile
Wills with His most precious blessing of all, eternal life. On Saturday,
August 23, 2003, our God Almighty sent a host of heavenly angels to
accompany His child home. Charlotte was preceded in death by her
parents, her son, and three sisters, Alphamel Black, Fayetta Laury, and
Sandra Williams. Charlotte Marie Baszile Wills was born on May 12, 1943
to Rev. Madison and Josephine Baszile in Port Arthur, Texas. She
attended Port Arthur Public Schools and was a 1961 graduate of Abraham
Lincoln High School. She received both her Bachelor of Science Degree in
Education, in January of 1966, and Master of Science Degree in Guidance
and Counseling, May 1974 from Prairie View Agriculture & Mechanical
College. She obtained her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in March
1983, awarded by the Texas State Board of Examiners. Charlotte united
with Jesse Edwin Wills in Holy Matrimony on December 19, 1970. She and
Jesse were the proud parents of one son, Darius Todd Baszile. Charlotte
dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and remained faithful
unto Him until He called her home. She was an active member of New St.
John Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Trustees'
Wives, Dorcas Circle, and Mission Chorus and served in a number of
positions, including President and 1st Vice President of the Missionary
Society, Sunday School Teacher, and announcing clerk. An active member
of the Eastern Progressive District Association, she served as Dean of
the Congress of Christian Education. Charlotte served the Beaumont
Independent School District (BISD) tirelessly, for 37 years appreciating
God and empowering others in each position she held. At the time of her
departure, Charlotte held the position of Guidance/Safe and Drug Free
Schools Coordinator with the BISD. She also held the position of
Guidance Counselor at Central High School, Vincent and Lincoln Middle
Schools (as well as Librarian while at Lincoln Middle School). Charlotte
was presented the Outstanding Texan Award in Education in 2003 by the
Texas Legislative Black Caucus. Her affiliations included the Sabine
Neches Guidance and Counseling Association, Texas Counseling
Association, Beaumont Teachers Association, Texas State Teachers
Association, and National Educational Association. As a Golden Life
member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Charlotte devoted her
talents to this organization via the Beaumont Alumnae Chapter, wherewith
in years past, she served as chapter President (two terms)
Vice-President, Secretary, Chaplin, Parliamentarian and chairperson of
various committees. She also served in various positions on the state
regional and national level. As Charlotte's earthen vessel lies down to
rest, she leaves to treasure her love and fortititude a devoted and
loving husband of 32 years, Jesse E. Wills; one sister, Madiola A.
Harper, Grand Prairie; four brothers-in-law, Michael A. Harper, Grand
Prairie; Cecil Williams, Sr. Arlington; Willie Laury, Cedar Hill; and
Gene M. Wills, Sr., Austin; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Wills, Austin; and
Jackie Wills, Thaxton, VA; three nieces, Tamara R. McClenton (Walter),
Arlington; Chara Laury, Cedar Hill; and Ermela Faye Harper, Grand
Prairie; three nephews, Cecil Ray Williams, Jr. (Cori), Keller; Heath
Laury, Cedar Hill; and Madre Madison Harper, Grand Prairie, Texas. Two
great-nieces Tammera McClenton, Arlington; and Chideayah D. Laury, Cedar
Hill; three great-nephews Walter "Rob" McClenton, Jr., Arlington;
Marqece Laury, Cedar Hill; and Trae L. Williams, Keller; an uncle, Paul
Baszile (Billie) Texas City, one adopted brother, Barry Baszile (Janet)
Los Angeles, CA; four foster brothers, Thomas J. Brown, Jr. (Thesrez),
Killeen; Rick De La Toree (Paige), Beaumont, Hilary Guest (Mary),
Beaumont, and Odell Johnson, Port Arthur, and a host of close cousins,
friends, sorority sisters, church members and co-workers. The homegoing
celebration for Charlotte Marie Baszile Wills will be held on Saturday,
August 30, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at New St. John Missionary Baptist Church,
1048 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, Texas. Viewing will begin at 12:00
noon. Special Service of Praise will begin at 1:00 p.m. |
