Texas Division President Shirley Woodlock announced that the President’s Project will be a marker honoring the eight Texas men who are buried in Tullahoma Confederate Cemetery, Tullahoma, Tennessee. Money raised from the sale of the pins helps pay for the marker.

“Campaign for Corinth”

 

Stephen Nathaniel Dossman

TCU PHD Student and Author

 

 

Mr. Dossman spoke about the Battle of Corinth.  At Corinth, the Mobile and Ohio Railroad crossed the Memphis and Charleston Railroad, creating a crucial nexus for the transport of supplies, material and man throughout the western Confederacy.

 

Mr. Dossman personally signed each copy of his book that was purchased by members.

Chapter Historian/Librarian Paula Jones and Chaplain Billie Beth Moore display their “period dresses”.

 

Paula Jones made the entire dress and accessories herself; including the undergarments.

 

Billie Beth Moore had hers professionally made so that it would be able to function for other societies.

 

Paula Jones informed the membership about all of the rules that apply to having a dress made or sewing it yourself.

“Socks for the Troops”

 

Mr. Greg Fox of the Handley Meadowbrook Lions Club collected the bags of socks that our members donated for the troops overseas
