BELYEN, BELYEU posted by David Hamill on Tuesday, December 10, 1996
I am interested in finding out anything about
Berry BELYEN (or BELYEU) or Belyen who was a confederate veteren buried
in the Texas State Cemetary in Austin and who applied for a Confederate
Pension (#06278) listing Kaufman Co as his home. The spelling Berry is
probably correct as is Belyeu, the cemetary and pension records use Belyen,
probably a misreading of the handwritten name.
I am broadening my earlier query re: Berry
BELYEN (or BELYEU) to include his brother Richard BELYEN /BELYEU, Richard's
wife Ruth BELYEN/BELYEU and also David N BELYEN/BELYEU and (Mrs. RJ BELYEN/BELYEU)
relationship unknown.
All of these applied for Confederate Pensions.
My BELYEU's immigrated to TX from Talbot Co. GA, sometime between 1865
and 1880. Berry claimed to have lived in Kaufman Co from 1880 to 1889.
At times Richard lived in Rusk Co. Mrs R.J. applied for pension from Williamson
Co.

CRAWLEY, JARRETT, WALLACE posted by Sharon Clark on Sunday, December
22, 1996
I am trying to find information on the William
Raford JARRETT family. They moved to Cass Co. from Georgia around 1880.
Their children were William Jefferson Jarrett (my grandfather), Metta Alice,
Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth, Bertha, Thomas Stephen Raford, and Emma S. (Susie)
Jarrett. Stephen and Susie were born in Cass County.
William Raford's wife was Emeline Jane Clayton
Jarrett and she is buried at the Corinth Cemetery, along with several relatives.
William Raford later moved to Hensley Arkansas with his daughter, Metta
Jarrett Davis, where he died in 1909. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
My grandfather, William Jefferson, married Nancy Elmina WALLACE, daughter
of Jane Elizabeth CRAWLEY and Andrew Jackson WALLACE, also of Cass County,
near the Dalton community. The Wallaces were from the Tallapoosa County
area of Alabama. Any help on the JARRETT and the WALLACE families would
be greatly appreciated.
