150th ANNIVERSARY OF CIVIL WAR BATTLE AT THE NUECES RIVER
AUGUST 10 - 11, 2012

THE COMFORT HERITAGE FOUNDATION, INC. once called the Comfort Task Force is a dedicated group whose purpose is (1) to preserve all written documents pertaining to the history of Comfort, Texas community. The archives once located in the Comfort Public Library is now housed in the Old Comfort State Bank Building, corner of 7th and High Street; (2) to preserve local historical structures; and (3) to help students from grade level through college.

The Old Comfort State Bank Building is known as the Comfort Heritage Foundation Museum and houses the archived files collected by the organization and artifacts donated by local families.

Currently the Museum is open on Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
Two major projects of the THE COMFORT HERITAGE FOUNDATION were the restoration of the Treue der Union Monument, and the Old Comfort State Bank Building.

The organization sponsors the annual Comfort Village Antique Show.
