Kenedy County is one of the newest counties in Texas, organized in 1921, from Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties and was named for pioneer ranchman Captain Mifflin Kenedy. Please check these counties for earlier census records. Our
neighboring counties are Kleberg, Brooks, and Willacy.
