2009 - April 27 - Already heading into Summer. How much faster can the days fly by?

Hope everyone had minimal damage to their houses from the hail storm, etc. Or, if you did, you had insurance that covered it and have it fixed.
Our society has had some members who had some terrible things happen to them, lately.

Susan Smith lost her husband in Mar. and the same month, Colleen Kenyon lost her daughter.

One of our new members, Barbara Miner, is with her husband in FL, where he is having chemo for his cancer.
'Mac' McLeod is fighting a battle of his own with melanoma.
Our love and thoughts go to all of them.

June-

June 30 - Bill & Sue Ashby celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

June or July?

On happy news, Joanne and Roger got to go to his service reunion. Haven't heard how it was.
Barbara and Ray Burke just recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. Is that correct, Barbara?

Does anyone have good news that they would like to share?

This "Swine" H1N1 Flue is getting scary, isn't it?
Please be safe all of you by taking all of the precautions, necessary.

Sept. Oct.

Our dear member Dwight "Mac" McLeod lost his fight with melanoma and Barbara Miner's husband, Ed, lost his battle also.

Please remember the families of all these that we have lost, in your prayers...

Nov - Dec.

Our long time member Harold Spann, is in the nursing home, Granite Mesa,  in Marble Falls. He is not doing well and Reba and he, need our support and prayers.

Election of our new officers was held and they were installed. at our annual Christmas party. We had 41 (I believe that count is right) in attendance and our usual White Elephant gift exchange was held with fun for all. The food at Francesco's was great, as usual.

Web sites you may want

The National Genealogical Society is having their National Conference in the States on May 13-16, in Raleigh. ( I won't be able to attend, even if this flu thing wasn't going on) But, I do plan on ordering some audio tapes for some of the classes that will be given, that I'm really interested in.
If you are interested you can go to the web site:

Also, the Dallas Genealogy Society is having a seminar in July. You can read all about it at their web site:

NC is one of the states that has most of their county pages now, listed with another server. So, if you have been having trouble getting to your favorite NC county, here is the URL for those counties.

http://www.ncgenweb.us/

If any of you have interests in Chatham, Moore or Montgomery Co.'s and I created and maintain those pages. Here are the URLs for them.

http://www.ncgenweb.us/montgomery

http://www.ncgenweb.us/moore/

Some of the links, in all of them, do not work. (because of the change in servers) But, I am still trying to fix them.
