Funeral services for Charles W. Baker, 40 who died
early Sunday morning at his home near Nash, will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.
at the Wamba cemetery. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife a, a daughter,
Charlie Jane 4: a son, Jack, 2: a brother John Baker of Alleene, Arkansas;
and three sisters, Mrs. Dora Smith of Texarkana, Mrs. Lula Moore of Cushing,
Oklahoma, and Mrs. Sue Whitecotton of Texarkana. He was a pioneer resident
of Nash. Honorary pallbearers will be; W. A. Russell, Hilliard McKnight,
W. O. Jones, W. M. Kennedy, Guy Armstrong, Filven Jones, Jess Hatcher and

is a brother, not a son) Buried in McCurry

the Texarkana USA Quarterly, Volume 2, Number 2, Summer
1975, tombstone inscriptions for this cemetery were published.
At the time Mrs. Elizabeth (Scott) Wilburn canvassed this
cemetery, the grave below was not marked and no evidence was
visible that a grave was even there. On May 26, 1979, Mrs.
Wilburn revisited this cemetery and found this marker erected.
"Evidently," she says, " a relative has
erected a stone recently for this grave." This stone
was erected to the right of the grave for Marcellus McCurry.
